Willy A. Urbanus, 84 of Toledo, OH, died Monday, August 15, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.  Born, September 17, 1931, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, he was the son of Marinus M. and Bertha A. (Hammer) Urbanus.  He came to the United States in 1956 and six months later he was inducted in the U.S. Army and then served in the Ohio National Guard.  Willy married Helen J. (Atkinson) Nemon on March 18, 1958.  She preceded in death on November 9, 2002.  Willy was employed as a engineering coordinator for Toledo Engineering Company for 33 years, retiring in 1996.  Willy was active in the German American Festival for years, singing in the Teutonia Swiss Singers.  He also sang with the Toledo Chorale Society.  Willy was a devote Christian and an active member of First Apostolic Church in Toledo, where he was taught Sunday School, served dinners and was active in the Jail Ministry. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving children, Marinus (Cindy) Urbanus, Gretchen Fleck, Doreen Nemon, Noreen LaLonde, Donna (Duane) Ehlers, Cecelia DeVaughn, William (Linda) Nemon and Regina (Jack) Phelps; 1 sister, 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, where funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016,  at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
